
Internet browsers who especially browse it on laptops, tablets or mobile phones can hurl a sigh of relief as they can freely get to the internet in Hyderabad city.
The ‘Free Wi-Fi’ project will be launched on Thursday at 5.15 pm by Telangana IT Minister Kalvakuntla Taraka rama Rao today in Hotel Marriott. The project will be launched with the first video call (Facetime) made by Minister KTR to Union Telecom Minister Ravishanakar Prasad. The free Wi-Fi service will start in stages over the whole city while the launching day lets the surfers use the internet in a 10 km radius around Hussainsagar.
From 1,800 to 2,500 citizens can use the free Wi-Fi service in the same time around the 10 km radius of Hussainsagar, say BSNL and Quad Gen officials. The areas included in the radius are Necklace Road, Tank Bund and Lumbini Park. The initial 20 minutes of log into the Wi-Fi service will be free and the access speed will be of 2 mbps to 20 mbps.
