Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday purchased a bullet-proof and mine-proof Mercedes Benz bus which will be used during his tour to the districts in Telangana. The 12-seater white bus is fitted with state-of-the-art technology and can withstand any type of attack. The bus that was brought from Chandigarh to Hyderabad yesterday, has an in-built bedroom, rest-room, a small meeting hall, Wifi and stairs to the rooftop for KCR to climb on top of the bus to make a dramatic public appearance.
KCR has bought this bus with the taxpayers money. Taking a jibe at KCR for his extravagant purchase, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh called him the “new Nizam of Hyderabad”.
“5 Cr Bullet Proof Mercedes for KCR Telengana CM ! And he has no money to fulfill his Election promIses. The New Nizam of Hyderabad!,” Digvijaya Singh tweeted.
Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao also criticised TRS Supremo for buying bus worth Rs 5 Crore . “KCR is spending lot of money on a bulletproof bus to tour the state. Even before election also he had toured the state. Why does he need a bus, that too worth five crores? The money should have been used to help the poor in the state,” VH told.
