With the setback it faced after the Attorney General's directives to the Governor over the implementation of section-8 in Hyderabad, the TRS government is in a hit back mode. Yesterday, CM KCR met the Governor and expressed his dissent against the implementation of section-8 in Hyderabad, a move they fear will curtail their freedom.
This morning, KCR's son and Telangana's Minister of IT and Panchayat Raj, KTR, lashed out at the controversial decision to accord the Governor with special powers over the law and order in Hyderabad and also came down heavily on the government of Andhra Pradesh. KTR said that it is amusing that the AP government is talking about section-8 after almost a year of state division and he further suggested the AP leaders to get over the Hyderabad hangover and start working for the betterment of AP. KTR made these comments in the wake of several statements like setting up of AP police stations in Hyderabad and equal powers for AP in Hyderabad etc by the TDP leaders.
Targeting the AP CM Chandrababu Naidu, KTR questioned saying "Whose interest is paramount for the Govt of AP: that of 5 crore people of AP or the criminal mastermind in the Rs. 5 crore cash for vote scam?" Speaking about the controversial section-8, KTR said that any section or constitutionally acceptable legislation should be people-centric and that it can't be used to cover up and protect corrupt politicians.
