Yet another season of the major cricket entertainment, Indian Premier League (IPL) is back and so came back the murky fixing along with it. The IPL governing body and the BCCI were shaken when an Indian cricketer who is now representing the Rajasthan Royals team approached the BCCI officials to inform of an Indian Ranji cricketer who approached with a proposal to fix the matches in IPL in exchange for a handsome amount.
The incident took place when the unnamed Rajasthan Royals player was participating in a training camp which took place around a month ago. The news is indeed shocking to the Rajasthan Royals team management now as three of its players, Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila, were found guilty of spot fixing in 2013 season. Sreesanth and Chavan were banned for life by the BCCI's disciplinary committee and several top RR officials were also expelled from their positions.
As soon as the RR player was approached to fix the match, he immediately reported it to Rajasthan Royal team officials who in turn reported it to the BCCI. No action will be taken as of now against the approached player since he promptly reported the incident to BCCI. The Rajasthan Royals is gearing up for their first encounter against Kings XI Punjab today.
