A SC/ST atrocity case has been slapped against former Union Minister Renuka Choudhary. The Khammam police registered case on Renuka Choudhary following an order by High Court in Hyderabad on the complaint by B Kalavati.
In her complaint Kalavati alleged that Choudhary took Rs.1.10 crore from her husband Ramji Naik by promising the party ticket to contest from Wyra Assembly constituency in Khammam district ahead of elections last year. She alleged that Renuka has abused her by caste when her husband sought return of the money. Kalavati has also alleged that her husband had died because he was weighed under the pressure of the debts they incurred to raise the money.
Khammam circle inspector Sridhar confirms booking a case under various sections. The matter would be investigated now following the registration of the case, he said.
“This is totally baseless, unsubstantiated and politically motivated. I have never met this woman in my life. I can swear by that. Such unfortunate things happen in politics,” Chaudhary said when contacted.
