Proud Indians create a record in UK



India is spreading its population across the UK. According to the Office of National Statistics' data which was released on Friday, the number of Indians living in UK has increased four times more than the Chinese and Americans, over three times than the Bangladeshis and German and two times more than the Irish.

The data further shows that Indians living in the UK have increased by half since 2004 with 7.6 lakh population. After India, the Polish people with a population of 8.88 lakhs, Pakistanis (5.16 lakh), Irish (3.78 lakhs), German (2.97 lakhs) and Bangladeshis (2.28 lakhs), South Africans (2.2 lakh), Americans (1.97 lakh), Chinese (1.91 lakh) take up the later positions.

With this, Indians have gained significant importance in UK and it was more evident after the English Prime Minister David Cameron visited India thrice since his tenure in 2010. Apart from these demographics, the Indian diaspora in UK has also been playing a significant role in the country's politics, with several Indian origin candidates being elected for the British parliament.
