The cash for vote row between the AP and the Telangana government has taken an interesting turn. Following a complaint filed by a lawyer in Visakhapatnam against airing the Revanth Reddy's cash for vote sting operation and the following telecast of AP Chandrababu Naidu's alleged telephonic conversation with TRS Nominated MLA Stephenson, the Visakhapatnam Police have issued notices to the Telangana CM KCR owned T News under the section 19 of the telegraph act and gave it three days to respond to the notices.
In the notice, the ACP of Visakhapatnam blamed the T News Channel for disrupting the regional harmony and inciting the hatred among the people of Telugu states. The notice was given to the channel's CEO Narayana Reddy at 11:45 pm on the night of Friday, alleged that the channel aired defamatory news laced with half truths and asked him to come up with his version within 3 days.
Upon receiving the notices, the T News channel staff expressed their dissent and raised slogans against Chandrababu, condemning his tyrannical behavior and demanded to withdraw the notices. The specially instituted SIT to investigate KCR's role in the whole row has met for the first time on Friday in Hyderabad, following which the notices were issued. The AP Police is also contemplating to issue notices to two Telangana IPS officers.
Meanwhile, upon learning about the AP Police issuing notice to their state's news organization, the Telangana Police is reportedly fuming against the AP Police for not taking prior permission from them as per law. The T Police is reportedly mulling over questioning the Visakhapatnam ACP Ramana in this regard.
