With the sensational cash-for-vote case continues to stir up controversies in AP and Telangana, the Telangana hero Elvis Stephenson, who allegedly blew the whistle and brought the scam to the light, is center of attraction. He's been revered as the Telangana hero ever since the scam broke out. Amidst security threat perception to him, the state government of Telangana has upgraded security of Stephenson. He has been provided security cover on par with Chief Minister, Home Minister and leader of Opposition, shared a security official in know.
A bulletproof car, round-the-clock armed guards, four-plus-four personal security officers (gunmen) and an escort police vehicle have been provided to Elvis Stephenson. A senior official of the City Security Wing was quoted as saying in a daily, "There is no categorisation done like 'Z' or 'Z plus'. As emergency measures due to a serious threat perception to Elvis Stephenson, we have given him strong security cover."
Normally an MLA gets two-plus-two security cover and in Telangana, two-plus-two security is being given to all MLAs. Since Stephenson is special case, it's said that high-level security has been provided to him and officials say that it's for time-being.
