TS and AP RTC employees strike from May 6


If the the Bus Bhavan talks fail, the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh State RTC employees will start an uncertain strike from May 6. RTC unions have been in talks for over a year about their requests in salary hike that has been pending since April 1, 2014.

Due to no response received, a lighting strike was launched in the month of March however the strike was temporarily called off as KCR declared a special bonus. But, the RTC employees are demanding the wage revision to be announced quickly and it ought to be at par with the state government employees with a fitment of 43%. Around 1.20 Lakh representatives are said to be qualified for wage revision and will be participating in the strike.

With a strike notification given on April 2, the RTC Unions stated that more than 28000 buses will be off if their demands are not met.
