Fake IAS woman officer Ruby Chowdhary arrested

Ruby Chowdhary, who stayed at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri Administrative Academy (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie for over six months without the knowledge of the authorities on a fake identity card has been arrested by Uttarakhand police. A case of cheating, forgery and impersonating a public servant has been registered against Ruby.

“She was arrested from a city hotel late Friday night by the SIT probing the case. She has been arrested under sections 420 (cheating, dishonesty), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document) of the IPC,” SP (City) Ajay Singh told. She will be produced in a local court later in the day and taken on judicial custody, he said.

Chaudhary, who hails from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, had accused Academy’s deputy director and 2002 batch Kerala cadre IAS Saurabh Jain of issuing her a fake ID card in return for money to facilitate her stay at the institute. Ruby had alleged that she had paid him Rs 5 lakh out of a total of Rs 20 lakh which she was to pay him as a deal for a job at the institute.

Jain himself had strongly refuted the charges, saying they have hurt his reputation and that he will take the matter to court by filing a civil and criminal defamation case against Chaudhry.

Meanwhile, Ruby Chowdhary today threatened to commit suicide if she did not get justice.

“Ministers and cops have all become one to shield him. After all why has he not been questioned so far? If he (Jain) is not wrong why doesn’t he have the guts to come out in the open?” She asked and threatened to commit suicide if she did not get justice.
