Astronaut Sets Record For Longest Space Mission Ever Performed By Woman

Italian astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti has set a record for the most time a woman has spent in space during a single mission. She has surpassed the previous record set by Sunita Williams onboard the International Space Station in June 2007.The 38 year old astronaut was supposed to return to Earth on May 12, but her mission was delayed and it is expected that she will land in a rural area of Kazakhstan on Thursday afternoon i.e on June 11.
