Amitabh Bachchan is the Megastar of the Indian silver screen and he is the son of a famous Hindi poet from Uttar Pradesh Harivanshrai Bachchan. Amitabh started his career when Rajesh Khanna was at the top and toppled him from that slot with his angry young man roles which became synonymous with the social scenario prevailing in 1970s and early 80s. Amitabh had a shirt stint as a politician also but it ended on a bitter note and he resigned as MP as his name was cropped in bofors scam.
